Mix-N-Clean

As I professional painter, I developed Mix-N-Clean to do the job of 6 different tools because I didn’t want to carry around a tool box full of painting tools. More importantly, I designed Mix-N-Clean to be better in every category than the competition. Mix-N-Clean is a paint mixer, roller cleaner, spatula, can opener, lip cleaner, paint stirrer, and the shaft makes a great hammer for tapping paint lids back on. I know this is 7 but we are not counting the hammer even though it works great.

Here are how I use Mix-N-Clean. Once you use it you will wonder how you ever painted without it.

To mix quart cans, you simply lock the pivoting blade in the open or long position. Use the opener to open the can. Put the Mix-N-Clean into a 3/8” variable speed drill. Using speeds of 500-1000 RPM, mix the paint. The speed you need will depend on how thick the paint is. Thin paints require slow speeds and thick paints require faster speeds.

The same method is used for mixing gallon cans as quart cans except the Mix-N-Clean is used in the “T” position. A variable speed drill is recommended, but if you have only a single speed drill, use the mixer in the long position as in mixing quart cans. If it's very thin paint you probably should leave Mix-N-Clean in the long position so you won't throw paint out of bucket. Always start out at slow-speed with the with the mixer all way to the bottom of the can. Just build up to speed where the paint is churning from the top to bottom. The holes in the Mix-N-Clean has been designed to aid in mixing.

In 5 gallon containers you can you use a higher speed drill. Use Mix-N-Clean in the “T” position to achieve maximum mixing power. Put it all way down to the bottom and use the drill at full speed. Gradually bring the mixer back up near the top and move it around in the bucket a little bit to make sure you get the paint thoroughly mixed. If the 5 gallon container has a bung on top, the Mix-N-Clean pivoting blade allows mixing thru the bung. All you have to do is turn the Mix-N-Clean into the long position and leave it at a loose or not locked in this position. Slide down thru the opening and when it hits the bottom it will open outward or the centrifugal force from mixing will flip the blade open. To flip the blade to the open position, touch Mix-N-Clean to the side of the bucket. Now you can easily remove the mixer.

Mix-N-Clean is an exceptional drywall mud mixer for one gallon containers and can be used on larger containers too. The mixing action whips the drywall mud into a smooth cream. Mix at a high speed and use a heavy duty drill. You can add water to the top of the dry wall mud to thin it. Mix slowly to work in the water and then at a high speed to finish. Mix-N-Clean mixes grout, glues and other viscous liquids. Make sure you use a heavy duty drill motor or you could risk damaging your drill motor.

For water base paints: After painting, roll as much paint out of the roller as possible. Remove the roller from the frame and put the roller into a bucket of water. Use just enough water to cover the roller. Soaking loosens up any paint left and this is how professionals do it. Flip the blade of Mix-N-Clean into the long position and put into a variable speed drill. Slide the roller over the end and up against the shaft. With a little practice you won’t even have to use your hands to slide the roller onto Mix-N-Clean.

Use an empty 5 gallon bucket and water hose with a spray nozzle to clean with. Turn on the water and spray directly into the center of the nap. Spin at medium speed. With good water pressure the roller will be clean in under 30 seconds.

We recommend using high quality rollers so the nap doesn’t collapse as you paint. By cleaning with Mix-N-Clean you will greatly extend the life of your roller. As a professional painter, I have painted three full houses out of a single roller. Cheap rollers just don’t hold up.

Most people will use a standard stir sick or a paint brush to get the last of the paint out of the bucket. Mix-N-Clean, with its pivoting blade, allows you to wipe almost all of the paint out of the can just like a squeegee. With its long handle, your hands stay nice and clean, well away from the paint. This feature allows you to make the maximum use of the paint you purchased and saves you money.

Ready to start painting and you forgot your can opener or screw driver? With Mix-N-Clean you no longer have to remember a bunch of different tools. Mix-N-Clean has a built-in can opener to use. This works great on quart and one gallon cans.

How do you clean out the paint that spills into the lip of the can? Now you can do it easily with the Mix-N-Clean lip cleaner. The lip cleaner is on the opposite side of the blade from the can opener. The lip cleaner fits standard paint cans lip grooves and easily scoops out paint so you can reseal the can. Flip the blade into the T position and use the shaft as the handle. Drag the lip cleaner in the groove. Spin the can and the paint is scooped out of the lip.

Flip the Mix-N-Clean into the long position and lock it into position. Hand stir the paint with a swirling motion. The holes in the blade help break up any particles and mix in the pigments. If a more thorough mixing is needed, attach Mix-N-Clean to your drill motor and you are set.
